Finding the most effective link type in your email campaigns

most effective link type in emails

Image, button or text link – which works best in email?

Knowing an effective link type will help you get and measure more engagement from your email campaigns.

It’s good practice to provide 3 different link types in your email campaigns to your content – image, text link and button.

But do you know you can discover which is the most effective link type?

In this video I show you a nifty tool where you can find out that info using heat maps.

Email Best Practice

Best practise is to provide more than one link to your content. Links can be an image, text or button. You might have several littered throughout your email but how do you know which was the most effective?

Heat Maps

finding effective link type with heat mapsConstant Contact have been quietly stepping up their offering and heat maps are just one new feature they have rolled out.

From looking at the heat map of your email campaign you can see instantly which links were the most clicked on by the size of the pink circle. The bigger the circle, the more popular that link was.

    Hi,
Happy with Chimpmail at the moment but the idea of using different ways to access the article from the email is very interesting. More work for my weekly email 🙁

Hey Patrick, I’m not sure about Chimpmail, but if you mean Mailchimp, then they too have a heat map in their reporting tools
